COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. '746 O~ <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO <br />A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department, Peer Support Unit and Critical <br />Incident Response Team has requested funds to attend the International Critical Incident <br />Stress Foundation, Inc. (ICISF) conference that will be held at the Hilton Waikiki Prince <br />Kuhio Hotel, on September 25-28, 2008; and <br />WHEREAS, the conference is sponsored by the United States Coast Guazd, the <br />Honolulu Police Department, the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMC) and the <br />Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH); and <br />WHEREAS, the training that will be provided at the conference will be pertinent to <br />the Hawaii County Police Department's long term training goals for the Peer Support Unit <br />and Critical Incident Response Team; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii County Police Officers will be trained in individual crisis <br />intervention and peer support, advanced group crisis intervention, building skills for crisis <br />intervention teams, critical incident stress management (CISM) when disaster strikes (linking <br />emergency management with disaster management), managing school crises (from theory to <br />application), group crisis intervention, strategic response to crisis, line of duty death <br />(prepazing the best for the worst), domestic terrorism and weapons of mass destruction <br />(A CISM perspective), the changing face of crisis and disaster mental health, and <br />psychotraumatology for clinicians; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated <br />to the Hawaii Police Department for members of the Peer Support Unit and Critical Incident <br />Response Team to attend the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. (ICISF) <br />Conference; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated asset forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,500 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $2,500 <br />
