• CRP Process -The Community Readiness Program (CRP) was intended to prepare the <br />North Kohala community for the CDP process. The CRP included community workshops <br />and over 60 small group meetings that took place during 2005 and 2006. <br />• Steering Committee - An 71-member Steering Committee was formed to broadly represent <br />the North Kohala community and assist in the preparation of the CDP. The Steering <br />Committee met at least once a month between June 2007 and September 2008 (23 <br />meetings) to review CDP material and plan for upcoming events. Many Steering <br />Committee members also participated in Focus Groups. <br />• Focus Groups -One Focus Group was formed to address each of the four Priority Issues: <br />Growth Management, Public Access, Affordable Housing, and Infrastructure. Each Focus <br />Group met several times to discuss and decide on the goals, strategies, and action steps for <br />their is5iie <br />• General Community Meetings -Four <br />Community Meetings were held <br />throughout the CDP process to <br />provide for community input on the <br />ideas that were developed by the <br />Focus Groups, Steering Committee, <br />the Planning Consultant, and the <br />Hawai'I County Planning <br />Department. <br /> <br />
