EMC-25 Page 2 September 23, 2008 Comm. 1438.1: A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PROTECTION AND RECOVERY OF THE (Res. 743-08) OFFICIAL HAWAII STATE MAMMAL; THE CRITICALLY ENDANGERED ENDEMIC HAWAIIAN MONK SEAL (by urging the Federal Administration and Congress to adequately fund the Main Hawaiian Island Monk Seal Response and the Incidental Aquatics Division with a $1 million annual budget; and by partnering the four counties of Hawaii with the appropriate Federal and State agencies to develop public awareness of the Hawaiian Monk Seal and develop a program for regulating human-seal interactions at State/County beaches and parks frequented by the Hawaiian Monk Seal) From Councilmember Bob Jacobson, dated August 28, 2008, transmitting the above resolution. If for technical or other unanticipated circumstances the video connection cannot be made and/or is disrupted, the scheduled meeting will continue. In the event of an unanticipated emergency situation, including but not limited to: severe adverse weather conditions, road closures, or natural disasters, the Hawaii County Council and its Committees may conduct its meetings via videoconference pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes §92-3.5. If that occurs, individual Councilmembers may be at either the meeting site or one of the videoconference sites. If the audio stream is lost for more than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated.
