Yamashiro per Communication No. 831, dated Apri124, 1998, <br /> regazding the change of zone request by Dr. William and Patricia Bergin at Ouli, South <br /> Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-2-9:25, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 242 amends Section 25-8-7 (North and South Kohala Districts Zone Map), Article 8, <br /> Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the Hawaii County Code, by changing the district classification for <br /> approximately 5.0 acres from an Agricultural to Residential and Agricultural zoned district. <br /> The rectangulaz shaped subject property is located in the Kanehoa Subdivision approximately <br /> 750 feet south of the entrance road from Kawaihae Road. The applicants aze proposing to create <br /> a two lot subdivision using a 2.98 acre portion of the existing lot for their residential/agricultural <br /> purposes, and to an additional lot of 2.02 acres for use by a family member or possibly to mazket. <br /> The existing lot presently has two access points off of Kanehoa Street that will accommodate the <br /> <br /> two proposed lots. One of the two proposed lots is fully improved with a vaziety of structures <br /> <br /> that accommodate the Bergin's use of their property. The other proposed lot is vacant but graded <br /> and fenced. <br /> Access to the subject property is off Kanehoa Street, which has aright-of--way width of 50 feet <br /> with a 20-foot agricultural standazd pavement. Kanehoa Subdivision has two accesses from <br /> Kawaihae Road, one access point (Ouli Street) serves 16 lots, and the other access (Kanehoa <br /> Street) serves the remaining 10 lots. Kanehoa Street also connects into Anekona Estates <br /> Subdivision which has one access point (Anekona Street) from Kawaihae Road. <br /> Surrounding lands to the Kanehoa Subdivision include the vacant State-owned lands to the south <br /> which are zoned A-Sa; Kamuela Plantations, a 10-lot subdivision, located immediately to the east <br /> which are zoned A-Sa; Anekona Estates Subdivision, a 36-lot subdivision, located to the west <br /> which aze zoned A-Sa; and Waimea Landmark Estates, a 26-lot subdivision, located across the <br /> Kawaihae Road to the north which aze zoned A-3a.
