COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. ~~~ US <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROI'ItIA'1'ING AN APPROPRTA170N OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNA'T'ED FUND ACCOUN'T(S) ANU CRh~DIT[NC SA1VTIa~ '('O A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUN'T'(S). <br />WHEREAS, the Kona Family YMCA is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to help <br />families with children offering after school and intercession programs; and <br />WI-TEREAS, the A-F Afterschool Program at Kahakai and 1-lolualoa Elementary School <br />will impact at least 250 children frotn kindergarden through Iifth grade in the 2008-2009 school <br />year; and <br />WHEREAS, the A+ After School program offers a well balanced curriculum keeping <br />children safe, improve academic achievement and help relieve the stresses on today's working <br />families; and <br />WHEREAS, the intercession program is the only Feld trip based program enrolling 50- <br />70 children from kindergarten through eighth grade in a structured, supervised extra curricular <br />activities such as learning coral reef awareness at local beaches in West I-lawai`i, basic skills of <br />different sports and character building circle for our keiki at the end of the day; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kona Family YMCA keeps our keiki active, safe and teach them <br />YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility and offer healthy and positive alternatives <br />for families in their community; and <br />WI-IEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to <br />the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used towards the Kona Family YMCA to help with <br />operational expenses and participation fees for the A+ After School Program, and the <br />Intercession Camps for children who need additional f nancial support; now, therefore, <br />BE I1' T2ESOI~VED BY T[IF COUNCIL OF'ITIE COUN'T'Y Oh' TTAWAT`1 that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set lorth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $3,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $3;000 <br />
