REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />DATE: September 23, 2008 Re: Comm. No. 1442 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 1442, transmitted by Mayor <br />Harry Kim, dated September 8, 2008, nominates Mr. Arthur Martin of Council District 2 to the County of <br />Hawaii Board of Ethics. <br />Mr. Martin is a 41 year resident of Hawaii. Since 1992, he worked as a clerk at the Seventh Gate <br />Christian Store until its closure. Mr. Martin is a retired teacher from Ka`u High School, and as a minister <br />at the Puna United Church of Christ. Mr. Martin's community service includes serving as a member on <br />the County of Hawaii Planning Commission, State Board of Elder Affairs, and the Good News Prison <br />Ministry. Mr. Martin states that he is a Democrat.
