COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. ~~~ OS A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). WHEREAS, the American Red Cross is anon-profit agency whose mission statement is to prevent and alleviate human suffering by helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies and providing disaster relief to the people of Hawaii every day of the year; and WHEREAS, the American Red Cross staff and volunteers work very closely with Hawaii County government and volunteer emergency responders in the community during disasters; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Chapter of the American Red Cross is responsible for managing thirty-four (34) shelters in the County of Hawaii, most of which are in public schools during severe weather events (e.g. hurricanes), flooding, evacuations due to brush fires, hazardous material spill or terroristic threatening; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief Funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense Agency to provide support to the American Red Cross Hawaii State Chapter to augment the Disaster Relief Program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set for the below: FUND: GENERAL: AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $]0,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $10,000 CREDITED TO: 010.241.5241.02 Civil Defense Agency $10,000 Civil Defense Agc OCE (American Red Cross)
