Department <br /> of Parks and Rec. 7/6/72 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 3.10.5 USE OF SWIMMING POOLS <br /> <br /> <br /> POLICY <br /> <br /> County-owned swimming pools may be used by the <br /> public according to the standards set forth by the <br /> County. <br /> f RED <br /> <br /> County Council PURPOSE <br /> <br /> To insure maximum use of County-owned swimming pools <br /> by the community. <br /> <br /> PROCEDURE AND GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTATION <br /> <br /> 1. For use by private organizations, the proper <br /> application form shall be submitted to the <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation for approval. <br /> 2. Upon approval, the use of the pool shall be <br /> scheduled. <br /> <br /> 3. The indemnity provision covered in the "Rules <br /> and Regulations of the Civic Hilo Auditorium <br /> (Atagust 8, 1965) shall also apply for the utili- <br /> zation of swimming pools by the public: <br /> "The Lessee, Rentee, Licensee, Permittee or <br /> Applicant shall at all times use due care for <br /> public safety and shall indemnify and hold the <br /> County of Hawaii harmless from all claims and <br /> demands for property damage, personal injury or <br /> wrongful death arising out of or in connection <br /> witfi the use of the public facilities or equipment <br /> by the Lessee, Rentee, Licensee, Permittee <br /> or Applicant, his employees, agents or contractors." <br /> 4. County pools shall be opened only when operated <br /> by approved county personnel. This includes use <br /> after normal recreational swimming hours, such <br /> as for parties, swim team training, etc. Any <br /> exception to this policy is contrary to existing <br /> ordinance ~j-and is ille&r. <br /> 5.
