COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 820 OS <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO NEGOTIATE A <br />LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY IN HILO, TAX MAP KEY (3) 2-2-020:014 (portion), <br />TO THE ARC OF HILO <br />WHEREAS, Section 2- 120 (a)(2) provides that the Council of the County of Hawaii may, by <br />resolution approved by a majority of its members, direct the finance director to negotiate the lease <br />of real property to nonprofit organizations, at such rental rates and on such terms and conditions <br />as deemed proper; <br />WHEREAS, Section 2-120 (b) provides such lease of real property to nonprofit <br />organizations may be made without the notice or appraisal as required in Chapter 2, Article 19 of <br />the Hawaii County Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i's Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is <br />designed to be a one-stop center for finding information on services for our seniors and disabled <br />community; and <br />WHEREAS, the ADRC, located at 1055 Kino`ole Street in Hilo, brings together several <br />County and private programs serving seniors and individuals with disabilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to lease approximately 80 square feet of office <br />space within the ADRC, identified as being a portion of Tax Map Key: (3)2-2-020:014, to The ARC <br />of Hilo, a nonprofit organization; and <br />WHEREAS, The ARC of Hilo will be providing support to the Office of Aging regarding <br />inquiries for those with disabilities. <br />
