No. 1553/Res. No. 806-08 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 806-08, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 806-08, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 1553 <br />dated October 21, 2008, creates an Account Clerk position for the Department of Public Works' Traffic <br />Division. <br />The Department of Public Works' Traffic Division has been encountering an increased number of <br />mandates, projects, requests, and personnel; along with the establishment of a new West Hawaii Facility. <br />The Traffic Division is undergoing a reorganization to handle the increased workload and to improve <br />efficiency, however, the Traffic Division's Support Section is understaffed and is in need of this position. <br />There was no discussion on this measure. <br />Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-1.3(c), Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor has the power to "Create <br />positions...for which appropriations have been made by the Council." <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 806-08, and <br />recommends its adoption. <br />la <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX <br />FORD X <br />RIGA X <br />HOFFMANN X <br />IKEDA X <br />JACOBSON X <br />NAEOLE X <br />PILAGO X <br />YAGONG X <br />YOSHIMOTO X <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />ADOPTED: NOV 7 1 Anna <br />
