No. 346-98 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> <br /> TIME: 11:30 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Res. No. 346-98, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 346-98, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 1054, <br /> dated October 26, 1998, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement for Grant Contract Number 98- <br /> DB-4 with the Department of Justice for a Violence Against Children and Youth Grant. <br /> The United States of America through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has <br /> authorized funding for expenses to prosecute crimes of Violence Against Children and Youth. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments obtain the consent of the council <br /> to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action be taken pursuant to any <br /> of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection <br /> with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number 98-DB-4 <br /> which will effectuate these purposes. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 346-98 and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> Ici <br /> Aycs Noes A&E EX <br /> Respectfully submitted <br /> CHUNG X <br /> LE[THEAD-TODD X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> RAV X ~1, <br /> SANTANGELO X <br /> SMITH X AARON S.~'.
