No. 268-98 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:30 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 268-98, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 268-98, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 244 by Finance Director Harry <br /> Takahashi, via Communication No. 838, dated May 1, 1998, authorizes the County of Hawaii to <br /> enter into an agreement with the United States of America for a Domestic Violence/Sexual <br /> <br /> Assault Training grant. <br /> The United States of America through the State Department of the Attorney General Crime <br /> Prevention and Justice Assistance Division is desirous of providing funding to conduct training <br /> and provide supplies for the Hawaii County Police Department's first line supervisors and <br /> detectives in domestic violence and sexual assault investigations, and to train additional sexual <br /> assault nurses. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Federal government may enter into <br /> agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of <br /> funds or for other assistance.
