COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 39 09 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUNll ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME '1'O A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, the Western Community Policing Institute (WCPI) was established in 1996 <br />as one of the national network of Regional Community Policing Institutes (RCPT) funded by the <br />United States Department of Justice Off ce of Community Oriented Policing (COPS); and <br />WHEREAS, WCPI provides training and technical assistance on community policing <br />issues vital to community safety to six-state region: Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Ncw Mcaico, <br />Oregon, Utah, and Indian Country; and <br />WHEREAS, WCPI is a valued resource and partner, by providing high quality <br />innovative training, research, technical assistance and support which improves the overall safety, <br />security, and quality of life for our nation's communities; and <br />WHEREAS, WCPI training courses help provide law enforcement, local government <br />and community members an opportunity to work together on impacting their community, using <br />the community policing process; and <br />WHEREAS, supporting our community to take positive action to help their group <br />achieve their goals to build a better, safer community; and <br />WHEREAS, contingency relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the <br />Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to support co-sponsorship of the recently held hvo-day class <br />"Creating Community -Police Problem Solving Teams" under WCPI Community Police <br />Training; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF'I'HE COUN'T'Y OF FIAWAI`1 that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $ 700 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC-Contingency Rclicf $ 700 <br />
