REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: April 14, 1998 Re: Comm. No. 771 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:45 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 771, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 771, transmitted by Hawaii State Association of Counties (HSAC) <br /> Secretary-Treasurer Al Smith, dated March 17, 1998, requests the Council to appoint one (1) <br /> Council Member to serve on the HSAC Executive Committee and one (1) Council Member to <br /> serve as an alternate. <br /> Annually, each Council selects one of its members to serve as an officer on the HSAC Executive <br /> Committee. The selected members from each county then confer among themselves and <br /> <br /> formulate a slate of officers that will be presented to the Councils and the HSAC General <br /> <br /> Membership for approval. <br /> The Hawaii County Council is currently represented by Council Member Al Smith asSecretary- <br /> Treasurer and his alternate Dominic Yagong. While Mr. Smith expressed a willingness to <br /> continue his service, Mr. Yagong opted to relinquish his seat to allow other members to serve. <br /> Consequently, Council Member J. Curtis Tyler volunteered to serve as alternate. <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance recommends the selection of Councilmembers AI Smith and <br /> alternate J.
