. . . . . COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 2<<1 97 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING mE LEASING OF COUNTY LANDS FOR AGRICULTURAL AND TIMBER USES BY SEALED BIDS OR NEGOTIATIONS. WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-111, of the Hawaii County Code provides that the County Council may by resolution approved by a majority of its members, dispose of real property~ and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-113 and 2-114 of the Hawaii County Code, the County Council may authorize the Director of Finance through sealed bids or negotiations to lease County owned lands; and WHEREAS, the County desires to lease those lands identified in Exhibit A, herein attached~ and WHEREAS, the County plans to commit suitable lands for long term timber use; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has received inquiries about the use of these properties on a short-term basis~ and WHEREAS, during the interim, the County desires to utilize short term lease of up to five years for agriculture uses other than timber use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it approves the leasing of those County lands delineated in Exhibit A for agriculture and timber uses by sealed bids or negotiations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii and the Director of Finance.
