No. 213 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:30 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 213, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 213 transmitted jointly with Bill No. 188, by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, <br /> via Communication No. 660, dated December 24, 1997, authorizes the County of Hawaii to <br /> enter into an agreement with the United States of America for a Hawaii Speed Enforcement <br /> Grant. <br /> The United States of America through the State Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle <br /> Safety Office, is desirous of providing funding to purchase 8 speed measuring units, 2 collision <br /> measurement systems, 1 computer and 1 plotter. The Hawaii County Police Department is ready <br /> and willing to proceed with its obligations under the Hawaii Speed Enforcement Grant. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Federal government may enter into <br /> agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of <br /> funds or for other assistance.
