<br />. . <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII ,', STATE OF HAWAII <br />~, , ' , <br />",~' , x' <br /> <br />RESOLl:JTION <br /> <br />AMENDS RESOLUTION 13-96 BY AMENDING RULE 1(1), ENTITLED "COUNCIL <br />MEETINGS" AND RULE 4(1), ENTITLED "PRESIDING OFFICER" OF THE RULES <br />OF PROCEDURE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII RELATING TO <br />OFFICERS AND THEIR DUTIES. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br />HAWAII that Section 1, entitled "Council Meetings" of Rule land <br />Section 1, entitled "Presiding Officer", of Rule 4, of the Rules of <br />Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii are hereby amended <br />to read: <br /> <br />Rule 1(1) "The council shall hold regular meetings for the <br />transaction of business in the County Councilroom on the first and <br />third Wednedsay of each month or on the following day if such <br />Wednesday be a pUblic holiday." <br /> <br />Rule 4(1) "Presiding Officer. The chairperson of the council <br />shall be the presiding officer of the council. [In the absence of <br />the chairperson, the vice chairperson shall preside. In the absence <br />of the vice-chairperson, the chairperson of the Committee on Finance <br />shall preside and] The Chair shall have the right to vote as other <br />members[i]~ [however,] ~hen the chairperson is temporarily unable to <br />perform his/her duties, the vice-chairperson shall have all the <br />powers and be subject to all the duties of such chairperson. In the <br />absence of the chairperson and vice chairperson. the council shall <br />elect from amona its members a temporary presidina officer."'
