<br />I. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. ;) 3 97 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CREATING A SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD POSITION AT THE CROSSWALK OF THE OLD <br />PAHOA VILLAGE ROAD AND KAOHE ROAD FOR PAHOA ELEMENTARY, INTERMEDIATE AND HIGH <br />SCHOOLS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pahoa Elementary, Intermediate and High Schools are located on the Old Pahoa Village Road and <br />Kaohe Road, a high traffic roadway servicing many area residents; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by placing a school crossing guard at the crosswalk of the Old Pahoa Village Road and Kaohe Road <br />which fronts the schools, the safe crossing of children and pedestrians at this crosswalk can be assured; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3( c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to <br />"Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council..."; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the salaries and wages account of the Police Department to cover the <br />cost of the additional School Crossing Guard. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl" that one (I) <br />School Crossing Guard position be created to be assigned at the crosswalk of Old Pahoa Village Road and Kaohe Road <br />for Pahoa Elementary, Intermediate and High Schools. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Departments of Police, <br />Finance and Civil Service. <br /> <br />Dated at Hilo, Hawaii this 7th day of <br /> <br />May <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY: <br /> <br />,1997. <br /> <br />ae ,-6?.h--z-~ <br />COT JNCILMEMBER.
