No. 210 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:30 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 210, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 210 transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 211, by Finance Director Harry <br /> Takahashi, via Communication No. 656, dated December 22, 1997, authorizes the County of <br /> Hawaii to enter into an agreement with the United States of America for a seatbelt enforcement <br /> grant. <br /> The United States of America, through the State Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle <br /> Safety Office, is desirous of providing funding for expenses to conduct seatbelt roadblocks. The <br /> Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed with its obligations under the <br /> seatbelt Enforcement Grant. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Federal government may enter into <br /> agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of <br /> funds or for other assistance.
