No. 200 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:30 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 200, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 2 om transmitted jointly with Bill No. 174, by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, <br /> dated November 19, 1997, authorizes the County of Hawaii to enter into an agreement with the <br /> State of Hawaii for a grant for professional services related to evaluating energy efficiency <br /> measures proposed for the Wastewater Division. <br /> The United States of America, through the State Department of Business, Economic <br /> Development and Tourism, is desirous of providing funding from the Motor Challenge program <br /> to assist in efforts to improve the efficiency of motor-driven systems at the Department of Public <br /> Works Wastewater Division. The Wastewater Division is currently soliciting proposals for this <br /> purpose and will require expert assistance in evaluating the technical and economic value of <br /> proposed system changes. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Council of the County of Hawaii may <br /> enter into agreements with the federal government or any other public body providing the <br /> expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance. The Mayor is hereby authorized and <br /> designated to sign in the name of the County Letter of Agreement Number LOA 97-01, which <br /> will effectuate these purposes. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 200 and <br /> <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> <br /> lkc <br /> Ayee Noe.
