The property is located approximately <br />200 feet east of Highway 11 (Volcano Highway) in the vicinity of the Highway 11 - Kuaaina <br />Road intersection, Keaau, Puna, Hawaii. <br />The Commission concurs with the following Planning Director's reasons for recommending <br />favorable consideration of the change of zone: <br />The applicant requests a change of zone from Single-Family Residential 20,000 <br />square feet (RS-20) to Single-Family Residential 15,000 square feet (RS-15) to allow the <br />subdivision of the property into two lots, one lot approximately 18,770 square feet in size <br />(Lot 12-A), and the other (Lot 12-B) approximately 17,080 square feet in size. The <br />property is co-owned by the applicant, her husband and the applicant's parents. As part <br />of estate planning, the applicant requests the rezoning to subdivide the property should <br />there be any issues as to ownership after the parents' passing.
