<br />y <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />----- ~- ---- <br />----------- <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8 2 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION INCREASING TIME ELEMENT OF WATER SAFETY OFFICERS FOR EAST <br />HAWAII BEACHES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, West Hawaii beaches have eight (8) hour shifts with <br /> <br />water safety servicesi and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, East Hawaii beaches have had drownings' before the water <br /> <br />safety officers begin their shifts at 10:15 A.M.i and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by increasing the time element of some water safety <br />officers, two and a half (2-1/2) hours of additional water safety <br /> <br />officer coverage will allow for training time and lunch breaks along <br /> <br />with back-up during peak afternoon usage hoursi and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by increasing the time elements of five (5) Water <br />Safety Officer II 3/4T positions, Position Nos. 2859, 2860, 2868, <br /> <br />3233, and 3604 from 3/4T to fulltimei two (2) Water Safety Officer <br /> <br />II positions, position Nos. 2865 and 2867 from 9/20T to 3/4Ti one <br /> <br />(1) position, Position No. 2858 from 3/10T to 3/4Ti and one (1) <br />position, Position No. 2866 from 3/10T to 21ST, the East Hawaii <br />beaches will be able to have the same amount of coverage as the West <br /> <br />Hawaii beaches. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds are available in the Department of Parks & <br /> <br />Recreation, Aquatics Division's Regular Salaries and Wages account. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> <br />HAWAII that Position Nos. 2859, 2860, 2868, 3233, and 3604, Water <br />
