<br />----._---- ----------~----- -----~- ---.--- <br />i ; <br />..;...----.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92 92- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CREATING WATER SAFETY OFFICER POSITIONS FOR HONOLII AND <br />AHALANUI BEACH PARKS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Honolii Beach Park has the potential for multiple <br /> <br />rescues on a regular basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the difficulty in responding to the beach area, <br /> <br />double coverage is essential for providing emergency care and in <br /> <br />enforcement duties; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the geographical isolation and potentially long <br /> <br />response time of emergency back-up support of Ahalanui Park, double <br /> <br />coverage becomes essential in providing effective emergency care and <br /> <br />in the enforcement of rules and regulations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by creating one (1) Water Safety Officer II 3/10T, <br /> <br />SR-17 position for Honolii Beach Park, and one (1) Water Safety <br />Officer II 2/5T, SR-17 position for Ahalanui Beach Park, seven (7) <br />day coverage, eight (8) hour shifts can be provided; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these positions can also provide lunch relief as well <br /> <br />as additional coverage during the peak use hours between noon and <br /> <br />4 : 00 P. M.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds are available in the Department of Parks & <br />Recreation, Aquatics Division.' s Regular. Salaries and Wages account. <br />
