<br />-""",,, "'" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /><IJ __. ~ <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />106 97 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF ,HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-1, FOR COPS UNIVERSAL HIRING <br />SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America through the U.S. Department of Justice <br />Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, is desirous of providing funding for <br />expenses to implement more effective crime-fighting strategies and to help meet this <br />challenge, more police officers are needed on the strees to provide the means to link <br />citizens and law enforcement officers in a partnership; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed <br />with its obligations for the Community Policing Program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-1 of the Hawaii Revised statutes, the <br />Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii <br />providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />the Honorable Stephen K.
