<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-' <br /> <br />t, <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 116 97 <br />(DRAFT 2) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, <br />FOR MARIJUANA ERADICATION GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America through the U.S. Department of Justice <br />Drug Enforcement Administration, is desirous of providing funding for expenses for the <br />eradication and suppression of illicit marijuana; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed <br />with its obligations for the Marijuana Eradication Program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Federal <br />government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii respecting <br />the furnishing, expenditure or receipt of funds or other assistance; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br />OF HAW All that it requires as conditions of County Project Number 97-39 and its <br />accompanying Agreement that (1) some of the funds be expended on a program review of the <br />marijuana eradication program, which shall be submitted to the Council within 90 days of the <br />grant's termination or sooner, and (2) no funds shall be used on aerial herbicide and chemical <br />spraying of marijuana plants. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW All <br /> <br />that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the <br />name of the County Project Number 97-39, which will effectuate these purposes. <br />
