COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 1 ~ 8> 97 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE HAWAII STATE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM, FOR A GRANT WITH THE PURPOSE OF HELPING COMMUNITIES IMPLEMENT ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDING TECHNOLOGIES WHEREAS, the United States of America, through the State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, is desirous of helping communities make profitable investments in commercial and multi-family buildings through the use of energy efficient building technologies under its national partnership program "Rebuild America"; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism is prepared to enter into an agreement with the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works to provide funds from the "Rebuild America" program to assist in implementing these efficiency measures; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development of the County of Hawaii undertakes to provide local support for the "Rebuild America" program through its on-going program to implement energy efficient technologies in County facilities and by assisting the State and others in the community to implement such efficiency measures in their facilities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Council of the County of Hawaii may enter into agreements with the Federal Government or any other public body providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other assistance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the name of the County, Letter of Agreement Number 97-02, which will effectuate these purposes. .---~ I I I I I I I I I I I
