<br />COUNTY O~AWA ,~~~~~:~:':~~ TA"'OF HAWAII <br />." . <br />.: :'* <br />: . <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, GANG PREVENTION-HILO GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America through the state Department of Human <br />Services Office of Youth Services, is desirous of providing funding to monitor gang <br />activities within the County of Hawaii and assist the State in the coordination of <br />the critical elements of the youth gang response system which include effective <br />intelligence and law enforcement, sharing of information, training and community <br />awareness, community and school-based intervention and prevention programs, and <br />evaluation and research; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed <br />with its obligations under the Gang Prevention Grant; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the <br />Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii <br />providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />the Honorable Stephen K.
