<br />J;. ---- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-I <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />161 97 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CREATING AN ACCOUNT CLERK POSITION FOR THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation has 536 positions, with <br />another 200+ summer fun positions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, of the 536 positions, approximately 80 are part-time, working <br />on a 7 -day operating schedule; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 105 new temporary part-time positions were recently added <br />to the Culture and Arts, Elderly Activities and Recreation Divisions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the increase in new positions, number of temporary <br />appointments, and summer fun employees, both the personnel and <br />payroll/ fiscal sections have had difficulty in keeping up with their expanded <br />workload; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has 13 <br />Divisions/Sections and, with a total of 641 positions, is one of the largest <br />departments in the County of Hawaii; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, of the 13 Divisions/Sections, five Sections have no Account <br />Clerk or support staff, hence they depend on the three employees in the <br />accounting/ fiscal section of the Administrative Division; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, just one payroll clerk processes' time sheets; distributes pay <br />checks; keeps individual leave and attendance records on each employee; <br />completes computations to pay all workers compensation claims, TDI, payroll <br />adjustments; and files all documents relating to payroll; plus the complex <br />calculations of the part-time and temporary employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by creating another Account Clerk, SR-11, position in the <br />Administrative Division of the Department of Park~ and Recreation, the <br />additional position would be able to assist the payroll/ fiscal section, thus <br />allowing the personnel in that section more time to do their assigned duties; and <br />
