<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~.-." <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.--1...S..2-.9.. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CREATING POSITIONS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS, SOLID WASTE DIVISION. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii and Waste Management, Inc. entered <br />into a Contract whereby all services at the Pu' uanahulu Landfill were to be <br />performed by Waste Management, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as WMI); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Order of September 5, 1997, Civil No. 93-281, Jack T. <br />Konno, et a1., v. County of Hawaii, et a1., the Circuit Court of the Third Circuit, <br />State of Hawaii, Second Division, has ruled that the County and WMI should <br />modify the Contract to reflect that the County would assume responsibilities for <br />waste intake services at the Pu' uanahulu Landfill; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by further order of the Court, WMI and the County would <br />begin transferring the responsi,?ilities of waste transfer services from WMI to the <br />County, and that WMI would train civil servants to perform waste transfer <br />duties at the Pu' uanahulu Landfill; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Order also states that on November 7, 1997, a hearing <br />would be held to ascertain the status of the transition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has determined that the <br />following new positions need to be created to comply with said Order: <br /> <br />One (1) Solid Waste Working Supervisor, WS-I0 <br />One (1) Solid Waste Working Supervisor Temp, WS-I0 <br />One (1) Equipment Operator III, BC-I0 <br />One (1) Equipment Operator III Temp (one year), BC-I0 <br />Two (2) Solid Waste Transfer Station Attendants, BC-5 <br />One (1) Solid Waste Transfer Station Attendant Temp (one year), BC-5; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds are available in the Solid Waste Division's <br />Miscellaneous Contractual Services account. <br />
