<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the DHHS has approved the Executive Office on Aging's State Plan <br /> <br /> <br />on Aging and made funds available for its implementation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Act 218, S.L.H. 1995, as amended by Act 287, S.L.H. <br /> <br /> <br />1996, the Eighteenth Legislature of the State of Hawaii has appropriated federal funds, <br /> <br /> <br />made available to the State by DHHS for plans, program development and coordination <br /> <br />of services for the elderly, in the amount of $6,000.00; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended, the <br /> <br /> <br />Governor of the State of Hawaii may enter into agreements with the Council of the <br /> <br />County of Hawaii providing for the co-sponsorship and joint development and <br /> <br />maintenance of programs and projects which have been authorized by the legislature and <br /> <br /> <br />for which moneys have been appropriated by the legislature. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAW All, that the Council Chairperson is hereby authorized and <br /> <br />designated to sign in the name of the Council of the County of Hawaii the Agreement for <br /> <br />Older American Act Funds for Education and Training, EOA Ref. No. HA-IIIA-98-3(N). <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor ofthe County of Hawaii is <br /> <br /> <br />authorized to sign the above-noted agreement and any related documents on behalf of the <br /> <br />County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
