<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-4> <br /> <br />--. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1 76 97 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, DEPARTMENT <br />OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM, <br />PURSUANT TO HRS SECTION 46-8, FOR AN ENERGY COORDINATOR <br />PROGRAM. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, through the Department of <br />Business, Economic Development and Tourism, Energy Program Grant, <br />is desirous of providing funding to the County of Hawaii for an Energy <br />Coordinator Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the General Plan of the County of Hawaii encourages <br />the use of renewable energy ,resources and promotion of energy <br />conservation as components of a safe, reliable energy supply for the Big <br />Island of Hawaii; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Energy Coordinator Program has resulted in <br />implementation of cost effective energy efficiency measures within <br />County operations and the community at large; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, continuation of the Energy Coordinator Program will <br />further increase the efficiency of energy use in County facilities as well as <br />advance the use of renewable energy resources on the Big Island of <br />Hawaii; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-8 of the Hawaii Revised <br />Statutes, the Governor of the State of Hawaii may enter into agreements <br />with the Council of the County of Hawaii for the purpose of providing co- <br />sponsorship and maintenance of programs. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby <br />authorized to execute on behalf of the County of Hawaii an agreement <br />with the State of Hawaii, Department of Business, Economic <br />Development and Tourism for the Energy Coordinator Program. <br />
