REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: September 30, 1997 Re: Comm. No. 495/Res. No. 158 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:35 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 158, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 158, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 144 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, <br /> <br /> via Communication No. 495, dated September 15, 1997, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an <br /> agreement with the Hawaii State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism <br /> (DBEDT) for the purpose of helping communities implement energy efficient building <br /> <br /> technologies. <br /> The United States of America, through the DBEDT is desirous of helping communities make <br /> profitable investments in commercial and multi-family buildings through the use of energy <br /> efficient building technologies under its national partnership program "Rebuild America". <br /> The DBEDT is prepared to enter into an agreement with the County of Hawaii Department of <br /> <br /> Public Works to provide funds from the "Rebuild America" program to assist in implementing <br /> <br /> the efficiency measures.
