COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />56 09 <br />RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APP120PRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND <br />FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). <br />WHEREAS, TE HA`A LEHUA is a Halau hula that is located in Kikala-Keokea, Kalapana <br />whose purpose is to preserve the Hawaiian culture through the teaching of hula; and <br />WHEREAS, TE HA`A LEHUA has 17 students ages 4 to 18 that participates at free of charge <br />to learn the importance of education, taking care of family and to be steadfast in the face of difficult <br />challenges through their Hawaiian culture; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Farks and Recreation supports programs which teach and <br />preserve the Hawaiian culture; and <br />WHEREAS, TE HA`A LEHUA is doing a workshop scheduled for May 2009, which the <br />students will learn how to prepare a dye bath, dye material, and sew a pau/kihei; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the <br />Department of Parks and Recreation to help fund the TE HA`A LEHUA hula costume workshop, <br />which is scheduled for May 2009; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $1,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.500.5517.02 Department of Parks & Recreation $1,000 <br />Culture/Arts OCE <br />(TE HA`A LEHUA workshop) <br />
