<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MtY os N,~ <br /> <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br /> <br /> BILL NO. 5 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 09 :13. <br /> <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 08-64, WHICH AMENDED CHAPTER <br /> 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING <br /> TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OFHAWAI`I: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. SECTION 5 of Ordinance No. 08-64 is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> "SECTION 5. This ordinance becomes effective after the new section of Haleki`i <br /> Street is dedicated and accepted by the County of Hawaii or the land owner grants an <br /> easement to the County of Hawaii for the purposes of carrying out the requirements of <br /> this ordinance, [and] the new section of Haleki`i Street is properly posted with signage for <br /> <br /> one-way traffic restriction, and after the following mitigative measures are implemented <br /> and accepted by the County ofHawai`i: <br /> <br /> <br /> A. Ali'i Drive in Keauhou area: <br /> 1. Construct eight foot walking path on makai shoulder of Ali'i Drive between <br /> King Kamehameha III Road and Kaleiopapa Road. <br /> 2. Stripe left turn pockets and refuge lanes on Ali'i Drive at driveways and <br /> intersections between King Kamehameha III Road and Kaleiopapa Road. <br /> 3. Clear vegetation at intersection to improve sight distance. <br /> 4. Convert Ali'i Drive-Kaleiopapa Road intersection to a three-way stop. <br /> 5. Install speed limit SMART signs on Ali`i Drive to assist in speed <br /> enforcement. <br /> 6. Adjust signal timing and upgrade signal systems at the following intersections <br /> to improve efficiency: <br /> • Kuakini Highway-King Kamehameha III Road intersection. <br /> • Ali'i Drive-King Kamehameha III Road intersection. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I <br />
