COUNTY OF IIAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAII. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 57 09 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,500 TO <br />THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation has donated $1,500 to the Hawaii Fire <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Pahala Volunteer Fire Department, which operates under the direction of the <br />Hawaii Fire Department, will be using the funds to purchase fire suppression supplies for the Pahala <br />Volunteer Firefighters; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br />behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of <br />Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to <br />the Edmund C.
