<br />COUNTY O"AWA <br /> <br /> <br />TAT.OF HAWAII <br /> <br />:. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7. FOR A HAWAII SPEED ENFORCEMENT GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the United States of America through the State Department of <br />Transportation Motor Vehicle Safety Office. is desirous of providing funding to <br />purchase 8 speed measuring units. a computer. plotter and 2 collision measurement <br />systems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed <br />with its obligations under the Hawaii Speed Enforcement; <br /> <br />WHEREAS. pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. the <br />Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii <br />providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance; <br /> <br />NOW. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the <br />name of the County Project Number PT98-01(01-H-02). which will effectuate these <br />purposes. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward <br />copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro.
