<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I.-.....J.. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.---2Lt...-9..8. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A SOLAR POWERED LIGHT <br />FROM HAWAII ELECTRIC LIGHT CO., INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, HAWAII ELECTRIC LIGHT CO., INC., hereinafter referred to as HELCO, <br /> <br />has donated a solar powered light consisting of a solar panel, batteries, charge controller, switch, <br /> <br />flashing beacon, and two flood lights to the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and <br /> <br />Recreation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this solar powered light is specifically designed for marine applications and <br /> <br />was installed at the Honaunau Boat Ramp on October 14, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, installation ofthis solar powered light at the Honaunau Boat Ramp will <br /> <br />increase the safety and security of members of the public using this County facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the value of this donation to the County of Hawaii is THREE THOUSAND <br /> <br />AND NOI100 DOLLARS ($3,000.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br /> <br />Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities or other <br /> <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> <br />HAWAII, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 ofthe Hawaii County Charter, the <br /> <br />County of Hawaii is authorized to accept the donation of a solar powered light from HELCo. <br />
