<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII' ,STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESQLUTION <br />A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF THE NATIONAL WOMEN'S lllSTORY MONTH. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, March 1998 is the twelfth annual National Women's History Month; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the theme ofthis year's National Women's History Month is <br />"LIVING THE LEGACY OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawai'i County Committee on the Status of Women is sponsoring a <br />"Real Women" Creative Writing Competition for students islandwide in grades 5 through 12; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the essay contest increases awareness of the many different ways that women made <br />history in Hawai'i and fosters pride in the outstanding accomplishments of women in Hawai'i. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I <br />that it recognizes the courage and countless contnbutions of women made history throughout the United <br />States and especially on the Island of Hawai'i during the celebration of March 1998 as Women's History <br />Month. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawai'i is instructed to transmit <br />copies of this resolution to Ms. Jacqui Hoover Chairperson, Hawai'i County Committee on the Status of <br />Women, and Ms. Cindy Hara, Essay Coordinator, along with the Hawai'i County Council's best wishes <br />for success and recognition deserving of their worthy contributions. <br /> <br />Dated at Hilo, Hawai'i this 18th day of Februa:ry <br /> <br />,1998. <br /> <br />mTROD;e~~_ <br />(#~ ~ ~ <br />~S~M'I <br /> <br /> <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br />COUNTY COUNCIL <br />County of Hawaii <br />Hilo, Hawaii <br /> <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION was by the <br />vote indicated to the right hereof adopted by the COUNCIL of the <br />County of Hawaii on Februa:r:y 18, 1998 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX <br />ARAKAKI X <br />CHUNG X <br />LEITHEAD-TODD X <br />RAY X <br />REYNOLDS X <br />SANTANGELO X <br />SMITH X <br />TYLER X <br />YAGONG X <br /> 9 0 0 0 <br /> <br />Reference <br /> <br />CamIn. 704/Caunc:il- <br />226 98 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />
