<br />. <br /> <br />t ":c, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII.'.STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />~ /, , <br />. . <br />. . <br />RESQLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Elderly Activities Division (EAO), a division of the County Parks and Recreation <br />Department, is sponsoring a Senior Health Fair on June 1, 1998 at the University of Hawaii-Hilo Campus <br />Center; and . . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Senior Health Fair will increase older citizens' awareness of the various services and <br />benefits provided by the County's Elderly programs and will promote wellness, preventive education, and <br />nutritious diet among our senior citizens; and , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Terry Shintani has accepted an invitation to attend the Senior Health Fair and will <br />conduct a session on his well-known Waianae Diet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bus transportation is needed for senior citizens to attend the Senior Health Fair; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County Council recognizes the significant contributions senior citizens have made, <br />and continue to make, to our society. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl that <br />it supports the Senior Health Fair to be held on June 1, 1998 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and will assist <br />in co-sponsoring the event for seniors throughout the County. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $2,000 be and is hereby transferred /appropriated out and <br />from Clerk Council SVC OCE Miscellaneous Contract Services Account No. 010-101-5101.02-115 and <br />credited to Parks and Recreation Department, Elderly Activities Division, OCE Miscellaneous Contract <br />Services Account No. 010-500-5519.72-115 for the purpose of providing bus transportation for senior <br />citizens to attend the Senior Health Fair. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Honorable <br />Mayor Stephen K.
