No. 403/Bill No. 117 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:45 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 117, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 117, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 130 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, <br /> via Communication No. 403, dated July 17, 1997, amends Ordinance 97-82, as amended, the <br /> Operating Budget ending June 30, 1998, by establishing the following district appropriations: <br /> DISTRICT AMOUNT <br /> Puna $ 759,600.00 <br /> South Hilo 1,600,650.00 <br /> North Hilo 100,350.00 <br /> Hamakua 264,600.00 <br /> <br /> North Kohala 132,750.00 <br /> South Kohala 382,950.00 <br /> <br /> North Kona 777,600.00 <br /> South Kona 249,300.00 <br /> Ka'u 232,200.00 <br /> Circle Island 800.000.00 <br /> Total $5,300,000.00 <br /> On March 15, 1988, the Hawaii County Council adopted Resolution No. 397-88 which increased <br /> <br /> the fuel tax by an additional 3.8 cents per gallon. Resolution No. 397-88 was instrumental in <br /> creating the fuel tax increase expenditure plan which provided for the expenditure of an <br /> anticipated $1.5 million in amiual revenues. These revenues were to be utilized for road <br /> improvement projects over aten-year period, delineated in five increments. This measure also <br /> established a district apportio~rment formula, based upon a percentage derived from each <br /> district's vehicle weight tax and road miles. <br /> Resolution 351-91, adopted on August 7, 1991, amended Resolution No. 397-88 by providing <br /> for revenues in excess of the monthly amount projected for any increment to be made available <br /> for circle island roadways. <br /> FC.
