Ms. Gagorik explained that a team of architects and planners from the mainland would be <br />sent to view downtown Hilo and assist with the development of design rules and guidelines to assist the <br />community in sustaining downtown Hilo for future generations. Councilmember Hoffmann recommended <br />that the team from the mainland be brought before the Committee when they are on island. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ford questioned what is meant by sustainable design. Ms. Gagorik explained that <br />sustainable design is the development of rules and guidelines that would sustain Downtown Hilo by <br />outlining the renovation and rejuvenation of the buildings within the community. <br /> <br />Fe Report: 25 <br />
