No. 256 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> <br /> TIME: 10:50 A.M. <br /> <br /> Chair and Members <br /> <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 72, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 72, transmitted by Police Chief Wayne G. Carvalho, via Communication <br /> <br /> No. 256, dated April 10, 1997, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Hope Chapel of <br /> Kailua-Kona. <br /> The Hope Chapel of Kailua-Kona, whose Chaplain is Sonny Shimaoka, has graciously donated <br /> eighteen assorted weightlifting plates (fourteen 4516, four 2516, and ten lOlb weights) to the <br /> Hawaii County Police Department. The weightlifting equipment is valued at eight hundred thirty <br /> dollars ($830.00). <br /> This generous donation will he added to the exercise equipment in the Exercise Room located at <br /> the Kona Police station to enhance the physical conditioning of the police officers in the Kona <br /> District. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of <br /> the county, may accept gifts of donations or personal property. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 72 and <br /> recommends its adoption.
