No. 10 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:47 A.M. <br /> Chairman and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 9, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 9, transmitted by Corporation Counsel Richazd Wurdeman, via <br /> Communication No. 10, dated November 20, 1996, authorizes the acceptance of real <br /> property from Richard U. Shinto. Also included aze copies of the wan•anty deeds. <br /> The subject properties, TMK: (3) 9-2-067-071 and 072 aze located in the Hawaiian Ocean <br /> View Estates in Ka'u. Each lot consists of approximately 43,610 square feet. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County of Hawaii, may accept gifts or donations of real property. <br /> Deputy Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase was present to respond to concerns expressed <br /> by Your Committee. Concerns included potential monetary obligations associated with <br /> <br /> the acceptance of donated pazcels and the need for protocol in inspecting these properties. <br /> Your Committee could not recommend the Resolution for adoption because it lacked <br /> sufficient information to make an assessment in the financial, environmental and legal <br /> impacts of such acceptances by the County. <br /> A motion asking Your Committee on Finance to approve Resolution No. 9 failed by the <br /> vote reflected below.
