REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: January 7, 1997 Re: Comm No. 7 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:47 A.M. <br /> Chairman and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 8, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 8, transmitted by Deputy Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase, via <br /> <br /> Communication No. 7, dated November 22, 1996, authorizes the acquisition of land for <br /> <br /> the improvement of the Mamalahoa Highway, from Kamamalu Street to Lindsey Road, <br /> located at Waimea, District of South Kohala, County and State of Hawaii. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 8, authorizes the Corporation Counsel to initiate proceedings in eminent <br /> <br /> domain and/or negotiate terms of settlement in order to acquire the necessary lands.
