Giffin from the South Kohala District to the Hawaii <br />County Leeward Planning Commission. Ms. Giffin is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. She retired <br />in 1995, after an extensive career as an educator with the Department of Education and the <br />University of Hawaii at Manoa. Ms. Giffin is currentlya Parker School Trustee. She is also a <br />former member of the Board of Appeals and the Planning Commission. <br />Ms. Giffin states that she is a Democrat. If confirmed, she will serve a five year term to end on <br />December 31, 2013. <br />Due to the need 4o have the respective planning commissions in place by April 1, 2009, as <br />required by law, we are respectfully requesting this nomination be waived to the full Council for <br />its consideration. <br />Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
