<br />~i' -- <br />'. <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />BILL NO. 97 <br /> <br />97 1.27 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br />(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: Purpose and Findings. The Council finds that the taxi industry needs and <br />desires County enforcement of the regulations governing taxicabs. The purpose of this bill is to <br />direct the effective use of license fees to fund enforcement of regulations of the taxi industry in <br />the County of Hawaii. Revenues generated by the annual licensing of taxicabs since inception of <br />the fees on March 14, 1990, shall be used to offset the cost of enforcement of this chapter. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 18, article 2, division 1, section 18-37.1, Hawaii County Code 1983 <br />(1995 Edition), as amended, relating to Taxicab License, is amended by adding the following <br />section to read as follows: <br /> <br />"(0 Use of Fees. <br />Annual license fees collected pursuant to this section shall be used exclusively for <br />enforcement of County taxi industry regulations." <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Material to be added is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the <br />underscoring need not be included. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or <br />circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of <br />the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this <br />end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br /> <br />SECTION 5.
