COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 95 09 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. is organized as a 501(c) 3 corporation for the purpose of animal population control, caring and rehabilitating of exotic, injured, abandoned, endangered and illegally smuggled animals, to house and care for species that are deemed unreleasable, to educate the public and students about proper animal care, and to serve as an amnesty station for alien animal species in the State of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. is the only sanctuary in Hawaii, of 38 in the U.S. that is accredited by The Association of Sanctuaries (TAOS); and WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. provides summer, residential intern program and expanded to six pre-veterinary college and two local year-long intern students who receive one college credit from the University of California -Davis in Animal Behavior Studies including hands-on experience three times a week to spay and neuter, and 100% of these interns have been accepted into Veterinary Colleges; and WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. encourages former post summer residential interns and post veterinary college graduates to re-locate, and practice in the State of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Police Department, Animal Control to be used for the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. to defray costs of $15,000 for the summer residential intern program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $15,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.]01.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $15,000
