COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9'7. 09 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, The 4`h Annual Kuleana Business Conference & Trade Show, scheduled for <br />May 6, 2009 at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort, is the cornerstone event of the Kona-Kohala <br />Chamber of Commerce's Kuleana Green Business Program, initiated in 2005 as the first program <br />in Hawaii to promote ethical and socially responsible business practices and environmental <br />stewazdship among all sectors of the Hawaii Island economy; and <br />WHEREAS, the key themes topics of the conference include renewable energy <br />(biofuels, electric vehicle infrastructure, proposed geothermal on Hualala`i), sustainable <br />agriculture and agroforestry (including planting trees to offset carbon), green development and <br />real estate, and triple-bottom-line practices for any business; and <br />WHEREAS, the Institute for a Sustainable Future, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, <br />has agreed to act as fiscal sponsor for this event; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Research and Development to be used towards the Kuleana Conference to <br />defray the costs to provide this educational and valuable community service; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC-Contingency Relief $1,000 <br />
