No. 147 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: ]0:40A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Resolution No. 147, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 147, transmitted by Finance Committee Chair Aaron Chung, via Communication <br /> <br /> No. 453, dated August 20, 1997, amends Ordinance 97-80, the Salary Ordinance, by adjusting <br /> the pay grade of the Fiscal Program Review Auditor (LA-TII). <br /> The existing pay grade for LA-III ranges from step B ($33,780) to step H ($45,312). Resolution <br /> No. 147 amends the pay grade to begin at step B ($39,120) and end with step D ($45,312). <br /> Resolution No. 147 allows just compensation for the Fiscal Progratn Review Auditor position <br /> whose duties, responsibilities and level of expertise warrants a higher rate of pay. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-32 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Council of any county may <br /> <br /> appoint and employ personnel as it deems necessary and to prescribe their powers, duties and <br /> <br /> compensation. Section 3-13 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides for interim amendments to <br /> <br /> the Salary Ordinance to be made by resolution. <br /> <br /> Concerns were expressed by Your Committee regazding the need for job descriptions for <br /> <br /> positions within the Legislative Branch.
