From 1888 to 1960, our family held the <br /> Bishop Estate lease on this property. Prior to that and into <br /> the wa mamao we lived at Kukl'o immediately adjacent. <br /> <br /> We continue to gather salt from Kalaemano and consider <br /> the walk across the so called 1800 lava flow, a walk through <br /> <br /> the dominion of the gods. As a "practitioner", the abscence <br /> of archaeology speaks as clearly as its presence. And it <br /> says, "Dominion of Gods. Not men."
